What a cutie!! I’m typically a cat person, but bordercollies are one of my favorite breeds.
Folks who get BCs need dogs who pay attention; have a sense of mission without necessarily having to be told. Ruf is as attentive as his teenager-mind will allow him to be. So excited to be a part of something he’s not even really motivated by food, he demands –and gets– companionship as his pay.
I’ve had kitties almost my whole life as well. My last one (Mr. Cat, who passed away last November at 19.75 yoa) is sitting on my mantel in an urn. I’m going to let Ruf get a little less ‘chewy’ before we bring another one into the home. Mr Cat thoroughly trained Ruf’s predecessor Beastie (also on the mantel, having passed away in April at almost 14).
Sorry for your loss, good to know more info about BC’s though, we are looking into getting a dog next year after our 2 cats have adjusted to each other….best of luck training Ruf as well!
